A rental assistance or Section 8 application in Illinois is for the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program. The Voucher program allows a tenant to find their own housing outside of the properties owned by the Chicago Illinois Housing Authority. A tenant based voucher, is when a tenant still pays about 30% of their monthly adjusted income, but resides in a facility owned by the housing authority.

What is the Family Self Sufficiency Program?

FSS is a program that enables HUD-assisted families to increase their earned income and reduce their dependency on welfare assistance and rental assistance in Chicago and the Apply for Section 8 in Chicago.
